Creeping Time came over for our second official recording session. This was also the first session we were all together. I had a production plan for the tune(s) we were recording and it was great watching it all come together. The “plan” made it possible to hold onto the sense of the entire project while being able to focus on the details.

Kjell had mentioned that his brother and oldest nephew may be showing up. His brother, Erik, is a cello professor at Minot State University in North Dakota. Knowing that I re-arranged the song to include some cello parts. However, when morning came, Erik Jr showed up without Erik senior. We set up a keyboard for Erik Jr and he ended up adding some of the more memorable licks to the final song! Reminded me a little of the Al Kooper / Bob Dylan / Like a Rolling Stone story.

Things are really sounding great. Can’t wait for the next session!
